The music page is full of mostly electronic rock–but he has a page dedicated to ROCKABILLY???
It started when I saw the Brian Setzer Orchestra a few years back, then went home and learned the guitar part on “Rock This Town” top to bottom the next week. Then I caught a Dita Von Teese show and couldn’t help noticing the crowd was half women who made more noise than the men, cheering on these burlesque dancers. And why not? They were awesome!
Then I finally got to check out the gold standard of rockabilly and celebration of all things 50s, the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend. Burlesque Bingo! Cars! My first bowling shirt! Bands: Big Sandy, The Space Cadets! Cool cats everywhere having a good time.
So I’m dedicating a page to my new hobby. Occasionally I’ll take a crack at composing my own rockabilly tunes as well as posting videos where I talk about guitar theory related to the genre. I even dedicated an Instagram page to my rockabilly explorations if you’re into the social media thing.
